Summer Recreational Rowing

The 2018 Discover Rowing Program is built to accommodate new and casually experienced rowers while developing a strong technical foundation for the sport of rowing. But most of all, it's about having fun on Kingston's beautiful waterfront.

Learn to Row

The Adult Learn to Row workshop is targeted for individuals with no experience or previous rowing knowledge. This spring and summer we are pleased to offer a three-hour Learn to Row workshop, which will teach participants basic rowing terminology and technique.

This workshop runs from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Adult Learn to Row workshops will be held on:
Saturday June 16, 2018
Saturday July 7, 2018

*Please note if you are registering for Adult Learn to Row you do not need to purchase an ORA/RCA membership. This fee is included in the total workshop fee. If you wish to continue to row with us through our Adult Recreational Rowing League after you participate in adult Learn to Row, you will have to purchase an ORA/RCA membership.

Adult Recreational Rowing League

Once rowers have completed a Learn To Row program, they may join our Adult Recreational Rowing League.

The Adult Recreational League features three-week sessions for rowers and runs Monday through Thursday from 6pm-8pm. Supported by a coach, the adult recreational program is all about getting out on the water for fitness and fun.

Adult Recreational Rowing session dates:
Session 1: June. 18 to July. 5 (please note no programming on July.2 due to long weekend)
Session 2: July.9 to July.26

*Rowers participating in our Adult Recreational Rowing League are required to purchase an ORA/RCA membership.

Non-Competitive Rowing

The Kingston Rowing Club Non-Competitive membership is suited for rowers with past experience who are interested in rowing for fun or casual fitness, but who do not wish to participate in the afternoon Adult Recreational League.

If you are interested in becoming a member for the 2018 season, or are already a member, please sign up below for a spot in a recreational boat. When the quota for a boat is met the KRC will contact the interested members to arrange a collectively agreed upon weekly training schedule and assign the crew a coach. Non-Competitive members who demonstrate competency in small boats and pass a supervised water safety test may be permitted to row without coach supervision under the club's buddy boat regulations.

*Rowers participating in our Adult Non-Competitive Rowing Program are required to purchase an ORA/RCA membership.
